Story of KO.DLL (game developer)

My name is Karel Matejka aka KO.DLL. I made my first 8-bit game when I was 12 years old. After more than 30 years spent in the game industry and working for big developer houses, one day I said to myself: “It’s time to construct a time machine and return back to the 80’s!”

Maybe it is my pixel art obsession, maybe it is the magic of old games boosting players’ imagination or I am just feeling comfortable in the past. Nevertheless, I have decided to try making games the old way again; I wanted to see if that miraculous 80’s magic can still work. And as there are no time machine blueprints lying around on the internet, the only way to achieve this goal was to jump back onto the indie roller coaster.
